TGDRT #4 – Storytelling With Paradox

This week, Chris King and Henrik Fåhraeus from Paradox Interactive join Jon and Dirk to discuss storytelling in games, with a particular focus on how this is done in Crusader Kings 2. We also talk a bit about the upcoming Europa Universalis 4, and our guests answer the burning question that’s been eating away at everyone for years: why were tech teams removed from Hearts of Iron 3?

I’ve long been a fan of Paradox’s games, so it was a blast getting to talk about what they’ve been up to. My modding career (which led directly to my development career) started with Civ 3 and Hearts of Iron 1. Who knows… maybe in some alternate universe I ended up in Stockholm helping to make EU instead of landing with Firaxis and leading up Civ!
